Ten days of JAZZ in Montenegro

Montenegrin record label Rabbit Records, in cooperation with Made in New York Competition and Festival INC from New York (USA), this year realizes two festivals within which you will have the opportunity to enjoy a total of thirteen programs, which will be held from 16th to 26th June and will provide magnificent musical experience to the audience. After we were forced to postpone the sixth festival announced for 2021 due to the epidemiological situation at the time, this year we are pleased to announce the realization of that edition of the festival, and seven days later the seventh Made in New York Jazz Festival 2022!

The sixth edition of the festival will be held at well-known jazz locations in Montenegro on June 17th on the SYNCHRO open stage in the nautical resort of Porto Montenegro in Tivat and on June 19th in the atrium of "The Capital Plaza" in Podgorica, both starting at 9PM. World jazz stars will perform, joined by local and regional performers: John Lee (bass guitar), Cyrus Chestnut (piano), Stanley Jordan (guitar), Vince Ector (drums), Lezlie Harrison (vocals), Freddie Hendrix (trumpet) , Yaacov Mayman (saxophone, flute), Ivan Aleksijević (piano), Šule Jovović (guitar), Vladimir Maraš (piano, keyboards) and Predrag Milutinović (drums). Our guests from Belgrade "drumbooty" will perform on Saturday, June 18th at 22:00 in the Sejdefa Jazz Club in Podgorica..

The seventh edition of the festival will be held at the same locations a week later - on June 24th in Tivat and June 26th in Podgorica, and will host some of the biggest names from the world jazz scene: Camille Thurman (saxophone), Allan Harris (guitar), Benny Benack III ), Darrell Green (drums), Jesús Molina (piano), Russell Hall (double bass), Yaacov Mayman (saxophone, flute), and the stage will be shared by Filip Bulatović (piano, keyboards), Šule Jovović (guitar), Vladimir Maraš piano, keyboards) and our guest from Berlin Ben Kraef (saxophone). On Saturday, June 25th, at the Sejdefa Jazz Club, from 10:30PM, the "MAPO keys band" will perform - an author's project by Filip Bulatović, pianist and conductor of the RTS Big Band..

From 16 to 26 June, for our audience we will prepare accompanying festival programs - free workshops, several master class lectures led by artists from the United States, as well as street art music performances by various jazz ensembles. The very day before both concerts, in Tivat (June 16th and 23rd) within the Porto Montenegro complex, on the plateau in front of the Hipotekarna bank, starting at 8PM, "Street Jam Session" programs will be held. Master class - free music workshops will be held at the Sejdefa Jazz Club on June 19th and 26th at 1PM, while the famous Kuhinjazz band will present their original material at the same location at a concert on June 21st at 10PM. .

The price of a single ticket for concerts on the Synchro stage in Porto Montenegro in Tivat and in the atrium of The Capital Plaza in Podgorica until June 13th will be 15 EUR, and after that date, the price will be 20 EUR. The price of individual tickets for concerts at the Sejdefa Jazz Club will be 10 EUR. Tickets will be on sale from Wednesday, May 18th.
