13.03.2018Second edition of Made in New York Jazz Festival, Montenegro 2017
Montenegrin publishing company Rabbit Records, in cooperation with Made in New York Competition and Festival INC from New York, for the second time in a row, had an honor to organize the Made in New York Jazz Festival, Montenegro 2017!
Festival was held on 9th of June at the Summer stage in Tivat and on 11th of June in the atrium of "The Capital Plaza" in Podgorica.
In addition to main program, on Saturday night, at Ethno Jazz Club Sejdefa, Vasil Hadzimanov and his band had a magnificent performance. On the day of Podgorica concert, everyone interested had an opportunity to be a part of a two-hour master class, held by the famous artists, where they have learned lots of tips and tricks from the greatest musicians of our time.
We are extremely proud of having the young generations again on stage with the big stars. Students from jazz class of "Vasa Pavić" held by our famous professor and guitarist Šule Jovović, opened the Podgorica concert with their performance.
During two days of the festival some of the biggest names of the world jazz scene performed: Mike Stern (guitar), Jerome Jennings (drums), Alex Blake (bass), Yaacov Mayman (sax, ewi, flute), Wayne Escoffery (sax), Sharon Clark (vocal), Joao Barradas (accordion), Rick Swann (trumpet), Vasil Hadžimanov (piano/keyboards), Milorad Šule Jovović (guitar), Aleksandar Grujić (piano) and Vladimir Maraš (piano/keyboards).
Strategic partner in next three years is "The Capital Plaza". Sponsors of this year festival are Ministry of culture of Montenegro, National tourist organization, Hipotekarna bank, Center for culture Tivat, US embassy in Montenegro, the capital city of Podgorica with the main secretariat for culture, municipality of Tivat, Toshiba and hotel Centre Ville.
Friends of the festival are: Yamaha, Hard Rock Cafe and Ethno Jazz Club "Sejdefa".
Official vehicle is Renault.
